Informations:

  • Lemmy had appeared as an unlockable character on the game Guitar Hero: Metallica.
  • When he was a child, Lemmy had moved with his family in the Welsh town of Benllech, and studied at Sir Thomas Jones' School in Amlwch, where he was nicknamed as "Lemmy", such nickname was taken from the phrase "Lemmy ( Lend Me ) a quid 'til Friday", because of his alleged habit of borrowing money from people to play slot machines. He soon started to show an interest on Rock N' Roll, girls and horses.
  • At school, Lemmy noticed a pupil who had brought a guitar and had been surrounded by girls. His mother had a guitar, which he then took to school, even though he could not play, and was himself surrounded by girls. After that, Lemmy left school and had moved to Conwy, where he worked at menial jobs while also playing guitar at some local bands.
  • In 1971, Lemmy joined the band Hawkwind, as a bassist. He had no previous experience with the bass, so he developed a distinctive style that was strongly shaped by his experiences as a rhythm guitarist, often using double stops and chords rather than the single note lines preferred by most bassists.
  • In 1979, Lemmy was arrested at the Canada/USA border in Windsor, Ontario, on drug possession charges. He spent five days in jail but was released without charge. However, after this event, Lemmy was fired from Hawkind, which led him to create his own band, Motörhead
  • Lemmy was well known for his alcohol abuse. The documentary Motörhead: Live Fast, Die Old stated that he drank an entire bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey every day and had done so since he was 30 years old. However in 2013, Lemmy stopped drinking for health reasons.
  • In the documentary Motörhead: Live Fast, Die Öld, released in August 22nd 2005, it was claimed that Lemmy has bedded in excess of 2.000 women. Lemmy stated: "I said more than a thousand, the magazine made two thousand of it". Meanwhile, the Maxim magazine had Lemmy at #8 on Top 10 Living Sex Legends, as they claimed he had slept with around 1.200 women.
  • Lemmy collected German military medals ( he had an Iron Cross encrusted on his bass ), specifically some Nazi German medals, which led to accusations of Nazi sympathies. He stated that he collected the memorabilia and regalias only for estethic, because he liked the way it looked, despite he abominated both Nazi and Communism ideologies, and defend his collection by that if his black girlfriend ( Cheryl Keuleman ) had no problem with it, nobody else should. Lemmy also considered himself as an anarchist or libertarian and was against religion, government and established authority.
